Tom Abbott

Tom graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice in 2011 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia that same year.

Prior to embarking on a career in law, Tom operated a successful retail business and was involved in the Adelaide arts scene and entertainment industry.

Since being admitted Tom worked for a number of years at a medium sized law firm in Adelaide running their criminal law division before joining Iles Selley Lawyers in 2018.

At Iles Selley, Tom’s area of focus is predominantly criminal law but he is also involved in commercial and civil litigation, working closely with Dominic Agresta and Matt Selley.

Tom has experience in most South Australian Courts including the Supreme Court, District Court, Magistrates Court and the Youth Court, as well as appearing in matters interstate. In addition to his courtroom experience, Tom has represented clients in various tribunals, commissions, inquiries and State and Federal Royal Commissions.
